Abstract Based on the principle of static north finder scheme, error models of several north-finding algorithms were established, and the equations were accordingly deduced to calculate the error with the affection of every parameter in every north-finding algorithm. The result of verifying analysis shows that the four-position north-finding algorithm is less affected by the parameters, such as the latitude of the testing point, and has the higher precision and stability.
