Abstract Based on considering the correlation between the laboratory result and reference value, the weighted average method for calculating the reference value and the method for calculating the uncertainty of the degrees of equivalence are introduced. Furthermore, the uncertainty introduced in the comparison and correction process contributes to the weights calculating the weighted average method are presented. It is pointed out that the influence of correlation of the laboratory measured values on analyzing and calculating the uncertainty of the reference value or that of optimal estimated value of the external independent values should be considered.
