Abstract  To design a superconducting cavity with high quality factor for frequency standard, the parameters that affect the ability of the cavity are all achieved through theory analysis and computer program. A curve through which the temperature can be achieved for the aim is got through calculating the quality factor in different temperature. The parameters of cavity are as follows: the mode is TM010, the diameter is 60 mm, the height is 50 mm, the frequency is 4.4GHz, the quality factor is 3.9×107 and 1.9×109 when the temperature is 4.2K and 2K,respectively,which is close to the calculation.
