Abstract The design of a superconducting cavity stabilized oscillator (SCSO) is achieved based on theory analysis and computer simulation. It includes the design of superconducting cavity with high quality factor, cryogenic environment, PLL and so on. The quality factor of cavity reaches 2×109 and the temperature is 1.8K and the temperature stability is better than 0.001K in experiment. The experiment result is achieved through system debug and optimization that the stability of 1s reaches 10-13.
