Abstract The effect of humidity on oil seal of standard bell porvers of gas flow by volumetric method is analysed to establish the mathematical model of the influence of humidity on the standard volume. The measures of improving volumetric method is put forward to assess measurement uncertainty of the new method. The influence of temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure on the test results is proved. It is showed that test conditions of the verification method must be strictly controlled and corrected on the humidity. The verification seal porvers by size method is recommended.
